Where Is This Product Used?
Product Description
Round bare aluminium conductor is used in winding applications and conductor production where lightness and cost advantage stand out. Its symmetric section provides smooth feeding on automatic winding lines and enamelling lines.
Electrical-purpose EN AW-1350 and higher-purity EN AW-1370 grades are used. In the annealed condition, elongation at break is sufficient for winding; however, because aluminium's yield strength is lower than copper's, winding tension must be controlled and sharp transitions on guide pulleys avoided.
Drawing-stock requirements under ASTM B233 are taken as the basis. Because of the surface oxide layer, ultrasonic welding, crimp connection or special-flux joining methods are recommended instead of soldering.
Applications
Enamelling-line feed wire, light coils, distribution transformer windings, conductor braid and strip production.
