Product Description
In this composite structure two materials take on different tasks: the polyimide film provides dielectric strength, while the glass-fibre layer wound over it provides protection against abrasion, impact and the mechanical stress during winding. Film used alone is sensitive to cutting edges; glass fibre removes this sensitivity.
When used together with impregnating varnish, the structure forms a monolithic block within the winding. This prevents turn displacement in high-vibration wind turbine generators and rail-system traction motors.
The film material complies with IEC 60674 requirements; total insulation thickness and overlap ratio are set to the customer's winding calculation. The thermal class is given between 200 (N) and 240 (C) depending on the glass-fibre binder and impregnation system used.
