Product Description
Round bare copper conductor is the starting material for winding manufacture where insulation is applied on a separate line, and for braided (litz, braid) conductor production. Thanks to its symmetric section it needs no orientation on automatic winding machines and suffers no section narrowing in tight-radius transitions.
Cu-ETP grade electrolytic copper is softened by annealing after cold drawing. In this condition conductivity reaches its highest value and elongation at break rises to a level suitable for winding. For vacuum and high-temperature applications where oxygen content is critical, Cu-OF (oxygen-free copper) grade is also supplied.
Produced to the requirements for drawn round copper wire for the manufacture of electrical conductors under EN 13602; the ASTM B3 equivalent is certified on request. Surface cleanliness and diameter tolerance are continuously monitored so the enamel layer applied over it is homogeneous.
Applications
Winding wire production, braided and litz conductors, earthing braids, heating elements, electric motor windings.
