Product Description
This product, combining aramid paper insulation with a copper conductor, is developed for designs where the winding window is limited but a high thermal class is mandatory. Copper's higher conductivity allows the same current to be carried with a section about one third smaller than its aluminium counterpart.
Aramid paper largely retaining its dielectric properties when it takes up moisture is a decisive advantage where dry-type machines run in humid or marine climates. The insulation also withstands sudden temperature rises and short-term overloads without charring.
The paper is assessed to IEC 60819 requirements; the conductor is produced from EN 13601 referenced electrolytic copper. When saturated with impregnating resin, the winding becomes a monolithic block and mechanical strength against short-circuit forces rises.
Applications
Dry-type transformers, high thermal-class motor windings, generator excitation windings, marine and offshore applications.
