Paper Insulated Wires
The core and insulation layers are shown to scale as a representation; refer to the datasheet for exact thickness and tolerance values.
Where Is This Product Used?
The gold area in the scenes shows where the conductor sits in the machine.
Product Description
Thermally upgraded paper is produced with chemical additives that slow the breaking of the cellulose chains under temperature. While the ageing rate of standard kraft paper rises rapidly with temperature, Satinert type paper preserves its degree of polymerisation much longer at the same temperature.
In practice this allows the transformer either to run at a higher hot-spot temperature or to have a markedly longer service life at the same temperature. It is preferred in grid transformers where overload capacity matters and in facilities with a variable load profile.
The paper complies with the electrical-purpose cellulosic paper requirements under IEC 60554; the thermal-class definition is given on the basis of IEC 60085. The product is shipped in moisture-proof packaging.
Applications
High-overload-capacity power transformers, grid transformers with variable load profile, mobile transformers, furnace transformers.
