    Product Description

Kraft paper insulated aluminium conductor offers an economical alternative to copper, especially in distribution transformers. Although a larger section is needed for the same current, the total winding weight — and therefore the load on the tank and the supporting structure — drops.

The oxide layer of the aluminium surface does not adversely affect the grip of the paper insulation; however, at winding-end connections this layer must be removed and the connection method chosen with creep behaviour in mind.

The papers comply with IEC 60554 requirements; the conductor is produced in EN AW-1370 grade. The number of layers and overlap ratio are set to the winding's voltage level and design voltage strength.

    Applications

Oil-type distribution transformers, economical power transformer windings, reactors, tap windings.
