Product Description
Flat bare copper conductor is the basic semi-finished product used in manufacturing methods where the insulation of transformer and reactor windings is applied on the winding line. The rectangular section gives a markedly higher fill factor than round in the same bobbin window; this means lower resistance and less copper loss in the same physical volume.
The product is drawn from Cu-ETP grade electrolytic copper and annealed in a controlled atmosphere. After annealing, elongation at break rises and hardness drops; the conductor takes shape in tight-radius windings without cracking at the corners. The corner radius is machined within a thickness-dependent tolerance so the paper or tape insulation applied over it seats without gaps.
Supplied to EN 13601; on request an ASTM B49 certificate for electrical-purpose copper bar is issued. Delivery is in continuous lengths on wooden or steel reels; cut-to-length can be applied to project needs.
Applications
Power transformer windings, dry-type transformers, reactor and choke coils, busbar and connection elements, current transformers.
