Product Description
Flat enamelled aluminium conductor is an alternative to its copper counterpart in designs where winding weight and material cost are decisive. A larger section is needed for the same current; in return, total winding weight and handling/assembly load drop markedly.
The oxide layer on the aluminium surface makes the enamel coating's adhesion behaviour different from copper. Surface preparation before coating is therefore a critical production step, and the coating not peeling during winding depends on the control of this step. The polyamide-imide top layer raises friction resistance as well as thermal class.
Produced to the general requirements of IEC 60317-0-5; test methods are based on the IEC 60851 series. Because of the oxide layer at joints, ultrasonic welding or crimp connection is recommended instead of classic soldering.

Dry-type transformers, distribution transformer windings, light coils, reactors, generator excitation windings.
