Product Description
Flat enamelled copper conductor is the standard solution for winding designs that want high fill factor and thin insulation together. The rectangular section stacks almost gap-free in the winding window; the enamel coating stays a few hundred microns thick. The result is higher current capacity and better heat conduction in the same volume.
The coating is formed by applying a polyamide-imide top layer over a polyesterimide base layer. The base layer provides dielectric strength and flexibility, the top layer resistance to friction, chemicals and sudden temperature rises. This structure allows a Class 200 (N) continuous operating temperature.
Produced to the general requirements of IEC 60317-0-2 and verified by the IEC 60851 series test methods: build increase, breakdown voltage, continuity (pinhole), flexibility and softening temperature are monitored on every batch. The NEMA MW 1000 equivalent is certified for North American projects.
